An American Novelist in Borneo

Robert Raymer is one of the “50 Expats You Should Know” in Malaysia, says Expatriate Lifestyle magazine.

He is the author of Spirit of Malaysia (2011), Tropical Affairs: Episodes from an Expat’s Life in Malaysia (2009) and Lovers and Strangers Revisited (2008). His short stories and articles have been published over 500 times in The Literary Review, London Magazine, Thema, Descant, Westerly, The Writer and Reader’s Digest.

Robert lives in Kuching, Sarawak, on the island of Borneo.

He is a freelance editor and writing consultant who has taught creative writing at two Malaysian universities. He was the editor of Silverfish New Writings 4, has judged short story competitions, and conducted numerous workshops on writing and creative writing. He is also an avid blogger.
